                    Building bridges between Enterprise IT and the rest of the enterprise:
                     
                      - The role of architecture in the Enterprise (seen as an organism)
 
                      -  The role of Alignment within the enterprise
 
                      -  Open discussion of experiences in alignment with other parts of the enterprise                      
 
                     
                    This session is intended for experienced architects (IT and other scopes, e.g. business processes, supply chain, etc.) with an interest in alignment among parts of an enterprise. Participants, depending on their experience, can present as well as learn from each other.                     
                     
                    
                      
                         Len   Fehskens is responsible for all activities relating to enterprise     architecture at The Open Group. 
                            Prior to joining The Open   Group, Len led the   Worldwide Architecture Profession Office for HP   Services at   Hewlett-Packard. He  majored in Computer Science at MIT,   and has almost   40 years of experience in the IT business as both an   individual   contributor and a manager, within both product engineering   and services   business units.  
                          Len  has worked for Digital   Equipment Corporation,   Data General Corporation, Prime Computer,   Compaq and Hewlett Packard. He   is the lead inventor on six software   patents on the object oriented   management of distributed systems and is TOGAF® 8 certified.   | 
                       
                      
                          
                          Walter Stahlecker is a Fellow of The Open Group. His current focus is on modelling, describing and promoting the concept of Enterprise Architecture in the sense of "Architecture of the entire Enterprise". He has been an active member of The Open Group's working groups and Governing Board (and the preceding X/Open) since 20 years. He initiated the Business Architecture Working Group, the ITAC Program and is a founding member of the Architecture Forum. In 2006 Walter retired from HP as Director of Industry Standards after 35 years, during which he served as manager (commercial UNIX program) and initiator (System Management part of OpenView, Agilent's digital IC test systems).   |
