                   SAN FRANCISCO, December 5, 2007 – The
Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral consortium focused
on open standards and global interoperability within and
between enterprises, today announced the agenda for its 17th
Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference, to be held
January 28-30, 2008 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.
The Open Group’s Enterprise Architecture Practitioners
Conferences, now heading into their fifth year, are globally
recognized events created by and for enterprise architecture
practitioners to examine a wide variety of topics that are
impacting the profession. The San Francisco event will focus
on the key elements necessary to creating and sustaining
                    successful enterprise architecture.
The three-day event will utilize real-world case studies,
testimonials and panel discussions to showcase best practices,
standards, tools and technologies that are being used to
develop today’s most successful enterprise architectures.
The conference will cover three key focus areas, one per
day. The first day will cover the business value of service-oriented
architecture (SOA) and examine it within the larger context
of enterprise architecture. Subsequent days will focus on
the value of TOGAF™ (The Open Group Architecture Framework),
then on the increasing role of skills- and experience-based
                    certification for enterprise architects.
“We are excited by the tremendous support we enjoy
for our Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conferences
and delighted to be delivering the 17th event in the series,” said
Allen Brown, president and CEO, The Open Group. “These
events have become the place for enterprise architects to
meet and learn from each other, both through the formal sessions
and via the informal networking opportunities with their
peers, and I learn something each time as well, which is
                    an added bonus.”
