OASIS President to Focus on eBusiness Web Services at The Open Group's "Boundaryless Information Flow: The Role of Web Services" Conference

San Francisco, CA - June 12, 2002 - Patrick Gannon, President and CEO of OASIS, will address "The Building Blocks for eBusiness Web Services" at The Open Group's conference on "Boundaryless Information Flow: The Role of Web Services," to be held in Boston July 22-26. Working with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe since July 2000, Gannon chairs a team that advises governments in transitional economies on best practices for electronic business.

"Bondaryless information flow can only be achieved through globally-adopted standards that can execute and exchange information interoperably across any Internet-connected platform," noted Patrick Gannon, president and CEO of OASIS. "ebXML not only provides the transition from EDI to Internet-based eBusiness transactions, it also delivers the framework necessary to deploy secure, reliable business-centric Web services."

About OASIS (http://www.oasis-open.org)

OASIS has more than 400 corporate and individual members in 100 countries around the world. OASIS and the United Nations jointly sponsor ebXML, a global framework for e-business data exchange. OASIS operates XML.org, a community clearinghouse for XML application schemas, vocabularies and related documents.
