SAN FRANCISCO, June 13, 2007 – The Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral consortium focused on open standards and global interoperability within and between enterprises, today announced the plenary agenda and preliminary lineup of speakers for its 15th Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference, to be held July 23rd–25th, 2007 at the Four Seasons in Austin, TX.

The Open Group’s Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conferences, now in their fourth year, are globally recognized events created by and for enterprise architecture practitioners to examine a wide variety of topics that are impacting the profession. The Austin event will specifically give attendees an opportunity to advance their knowledge of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and its impact on the enterprise and their business.

The event already features an impressive lineup of plenary speakers, including senior IT leaders and enterprise architects from global organizations such as IBM, Sun Microsystems, Capgemini, Austin Energy, Chevron, and Deutsche Bank, among many others. A panel of well-known industry analysts, trade press and other assorted experts will discuss and dissect current SOA-related trends on Monday, July 23. This plenary session will include return appearances by InfoWorld’s Executive Editor at Large Eric Knorr and Datamonitor analyst Tony Baer, in addition to Dana Gardner, president and principal analyst of Interarbor Solutions; Beth Gold Bernstein, vice president of Strategic Products and Services for ebizQ.net, and Todd Biske, principal enterprise architect for MomentumSI. In addition, David Linthicum, internationally known services-oriented architecture expert, will be a featured keynote speaker.

“The Open Group’s Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conferences allows attendees to exchange techniques and best practices with their peers in order to advance this increasingly important profession,” said Allen Brown, president and CEO, The Open Group. “The Austin event is an excellent venue for helping CIOs, enterprise architects and strategists, senior managers, analysts, and industry experts better understand how to realize the full promise of SOA.”

The conference opening day plenary and track sessions will focus on the following areas:

  • Common business principles to associate with service-orientation
