MIAMI, IT ARCHITECTURE PRACTITIONERS CONFERENCE, July
19, 2006 – The Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral
consortium focused on open standards and global interoperability within and
between enterprises, today announced a significant expansion of its membership
with 23 new companies joining the organization from around the globe in recent
weeks. These new members represent a diverse group of organizations from
across multiple industries, including Philips, Novartis Pharma, Wipro Technologies
and Unisys. Through its growing membership base of approximately 300 buyers
and suppliers of IT systems, The Open Group’s helps enable secure access
to integrated information wherever and whenever needed through the development
of open standards.
