SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 19, 2007 – The Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral consortium focused on open standards and global interoperability within and between enterprises, today announced that Arismore, a services consultancy dedicated to enterprise architecture design and implementation, has signed a Franchise Agreement to represent the organization in France.
The goal of the new franchise is to provide the IT and enterprise architecture communities in France with seamless access to localized information, resources and certification programs offered by The Open Group. This will be achieved through facilitating local initiatives and events for professional architects, translating The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and other materials from English into French, and delivering various certification programs in French language. In addition, the new franchise will be primarily responsible for recruiting and enrolling new members in the region.

“France has a long tradition with enterprise architecture as a means to drive information systems and business process transformation,” said Eric Boulay, CEO for Arismore. “The recent decision of CIGREF, France’s venerable CIO group, to set up an Enterprise Architecture Review board in cooperation with The Open Group, sets even higher expectations on the profession. In order to reach these expectations and raise the understanding of enterprise architecture in France, we will rely on and contribute to the guiding principles of the Architecture Forum: to achieve IT/business alignment; and to make the usage of TOGAF easier.”
“The highly distributed nature of today’s business climate makes enterprise architecture an industry imperative for organizations around the world,” said Allen Brown, president and CEO for The Open Group. “Eric and his team at Arismore are already doing so much to advance the profession and successful implementation of enterprise architecture. They are a logical partner to represent The Open Group in France.”
