SAN FRANCISCO, September 22, 2008 – The Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral consortium focused on open standards and global interoperability within and between enterprises, today announced that Arismore, an IT services company which holds The Open Group Franchise in France, has released a French localized TOGAF™ 8 course and certification.
After launching the French Franchise of The Open Group in November 2007, this is another important event to facilitate access to TOGAF™, the de facto standard for developing an Enterprise Architecture, in France. TOGAF™ seminars, trainings and certifications will be administered in French language by Arismore on a monthly basis. This program will provide French native speaking architects and IT stakeholders with a comprehensive view of Enterprise Architecture as a process and share practical tools designed to improve the cooperation and relationship between IT and business.
Arismore has been designing the EA training course for more than two years. The course is part of a global initiative to raise Enterprise Architecture to the level of a CIO’s function in order to help build leadership, enhance an enterprise’s capabilities and transform IT departments. The recent decision of CIGREF, France’s venerable CIO group, to set up an Enterprise Architecture Review board in cooperation with The Open Group not only follows a long French tradition of business and systems modeling, but also shows the high regard they have for the profession of Enterprise Architecture.
“Since Enterprise Architecture practices are becoming commonplace within large organizations, formal training which leads to TOGAF certification is necessary to ensure these businesses architect themselves in line with globally accepted standards,” said Eric Boulay, CEO of Arismore. “By designing an in-house architecture framework based on TOGAF and relevant business modelling standards such as eTOM from TMF, major international companies are considering the value of EA in conjunction with business strategy to manage information system evolution and enterprise shared services.”
“The state of enterprise architecture in general is good; the state of enterprise architecture within The Open Group in particular is very good with more than 7,500 individuals who have achieved certification to the TOGAF 8 standard,” said Allen Brown, president and CEO of The Open Group. “But while we have come a long way, now is not the time to sit back. The job undertaken in every region and in the Architecture Forum through the Localization workgroup is a key contribution to advance the profession. On behalf of our membership, I’d like to thank Arismore for their leadership role in localizing TOGAF for the architecture community in France.”
