The Open Group Releases TETware professional 1.3Revision Adds Strategic Additions and User Requested Enhancements to multi-platform uniform test scaffoldMenlo Park, CA. 25 September
2001 – The Open Group recently announced the release of TETware professional
1.3. This enhanced version of the TETware professional
software test framework gives current and future customers the opportunity
to significantly increase the productivity of their software testing.
TETware professional is a multi-platform uniform test scaffold,
into which non-distributed and distributed test suites can be incorporated.
It has a graphical user interface (GUI) written in Java, and supports
testing on UNIX® operating systems, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows
9x, and "Testing is essential to ensure that products conform with their design specification and that they will interoperate with other IT products and systems," said Allen Brown, President and CEO of The Open Group. “TETware professional 1.3 will serve to enable vendors to improve product quality, reduce the cost of testing and get products to market more quickly.” TETware professional
1.3 has a number of additions to increase usability, including: the addition of database
drivers; a Scenario File Generator and Editor TETware professional 1.3 can trace its roots back to the Test Environment Toolkit (TET) specification in 1989. The supported release of TET, known as TETware, was first released in 1996. TETware professional was released in 2000, and is compatible, at an API level, with tests that were developed to run under previous releases.
