The Open Group’s 11th Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference to Spotlight SOA
Prestigious Industry Event Will Provide Insight on Best Practices, Standards and Technologies for Accelerating Adoption of SOA

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 29, 2006 – The Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral consortium focused on open standards and global interoperability within and between enterprises, today announced that its 11th Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference will be held January 29 – 31, 2007 at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley resort in San Diego, California. This event features a special focus on service-oriented architecture (SOA), and will include case studies, practical sessions and in-depth panel discussions of proven models for leveraging this rapidly evolving architectural approach.

The Open Group’s Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conferences are globally recognized events created by and for enterprise architecture practitioners to examine a wide variety of topics which are impacting the profession. The San Diego event will bring together enterprise architects, as well as CIOs, IT strategists, and other industry experts to share insights and experiences aimed at better understanding how SOA can be successfully leveraged for business advantage. The conference’s comprehensive three-day, multi-track agenda will also explore complementary aspects of enterprise architecture such as governance, development, TOGAF™, architecture tools, semantic interoperability, certification and professional development, and evolving the architecture discipline in line with business demands.

“The advent and rapid growth of SOA requires not only new skills and techniques for enterprise architecture practitioners, but also a new way of looking at business-IT alignment,” said Allen Brown, president and CEO, The Open Group. “By focusing on this evolving approach, The Open Group’s upcoming Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference will examine SOA’s impact on business and IT today, as well as explore the implications for the future.”
