SAN FRANCISCO, September 29, 2008 – The Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral consortium focused on open standards and global interoperability within and between enterprises, today announced its line-up of speakers for the 20th Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference. Ron Tolido, CTO of Continental Europe & Asia Pacific, Capgemini, and Peter Hustinx, Data Protection Supervisor, European Commission, will deliver keynote speeches at the conference, to be held October 20-22, 2008 at the ArabellaSheraton Grand Hotel München in Munich.
Additional speakers for the conference will address both enterprise architecture and secure architectures, particularly related to the increasing application of Web 2.0 and cloud computing technologies within large globally distributed businesses. Conference highlights include:
- Gartner Research Director Carsten Casper will present on Web 2.0 Security;
- Steve Whitlock, Chief Information Security Architect at Boeing US, will discuss the dual need for rights management standards and information metadata/tagging standards;
- Microsoft Principal Architect Mike Walker will present on visualizing architecture patterns; and
- Eric Boulay, Président Directeur Général, Arismore, will lead a workshop and roundtable on teaching EA in higher education
- Stuart Macgregor, chief executive, and Paul van der Merwe, consulting manager, Real IRM, speaking together on enterprise architecture governance
The Open Group’s Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference series, now in their fifth year, are globally recognized events created by and for enterprise architecture practitioners to examine a wide variety of topics currently affecting the architecture profession. The Munich event will focus on how different aspects of Security Architecture contribute vital roles in delivering safe and secure enterprise architectures. The conference will also include additional parallel speaking tracks that will cover key security challenges facing enterprises today; including, the roles of security and enterprise architects in working with business stakeholders to create architectures that meet business goals; the impact of SCA and Web 2.0 architectures on security architectures; and guidance for best practices and standards development for security architectures.
