SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 6, 2006 – The Open Group, a vendor-
and technology-neutral consortium focused on open standards
and global interoperability within and between enterprises,
today announced that Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has joined more
than 300 other global technology vendor and end-user companies
as a new member of the organization. Accenture will serve
on The Open Group’s Architecture Forum, which identifies
and establishes standards for the development of enterprise-wide
information systems.
The Architecture Forum developed The Open Group Architecture
Framework
(TOGAF™), an industry standard that may be used freely
by any organization wishing to develop an information systems
architecture. A globally recognized certification program
based on TOGAF exists with the primary goal of enabling businesses
to achieve the right balance between IT efficiency and business
innovation. The 100-member Architecture Forum is made up
of some of the world’s most innovative buyers and suppliers
of information technology.
