The UNIX 98 Server Product Standard is a superset of the UNIX 98 Product Standard. This Product Standard adds interoperability to the UNIX 98 Product Standard to support Internet and intranet services. This includes support of network computer devices and the presence of a mandatory Java execution environment. The UNIX 98 Server Product Standard complements the Network Computer Profile providing the server side of that definition. The emphasis is towards services and applications support. A standard server will provide a set of core services to support Internet applications. The additional functionality over the UNIX 98 Product Standard includes: the Internet protocol suite, Java support and Internet capabilities to support network computer clients. This Product Standard includes the following mandatory Product Standards: UNIX 98 and Internet Server.
