The Open Group is a specialist in the development of conformance test suites for software specifications endorsed by industry standards bodies. The Open Group has a twenty-one year history of the provision of high quality test suites and conformance related services to the software industry.
For example, The Open Group is, or has been, involved in the development of processes and procedures for the testing of the
- IEEE POSIX family of standards
- Single UNIX Specification
- Linux Standard Base
and in the development of test suites for measurement of conformance to these standards and specifications.
Our breadth of expertise in testing development and test suites is evidenced
by our involvement in SET, CDSA and DVB-MHP.
For the credit card industry, we were involved in the specification and implementation of conformance measurement testing and procedures for the Secure Electronic Transactions (SET) standard promoted by the major credit card companies for Internet commerce transactions. This included assisting the card associations in the development of certification policies and procedures for the SET brand.
In another instance, we worked on the
development of a test suite for the Common Data Security Architecture defined by a group of industry majors including Intel, Motorola, Apple, Compaq, Hewlett Packard and IBM.
We have also worked
with a consortia of Digital TV manufacturers to provide compliance test technologies for the DVB-MHP specification.
