Requirements by Product Standard
This summarizes requirements for the Test Suites to be used in support of the Open
Brand program.
The first half of the page covers the Base, Base 95, UNIX 95, COE Platform, Common Desktop
Environment (CDE) Product Standards, UNIX 98 , UNIX 98 Workstation, UNIX 98
Server, UNIX 03 and UNIX V7 Product Standards.
The second half of the page covers the complete set of individual Product Standards.
Links in the tables below are to Product Standard definitions or descriptions of the
Test Suites.
Full details of all Registered Products and their related Product Standards can be
obtained from the Directory of Registered Products on The Open
Group's web site.
Base and UNIX
This is a summary of the Open Brand and its various Product Standards and the
relationship to UNIX and the Single UNIX Specification. The UNIX
trademark is a registered trademark of The Open Group.
Products which claim to conform to the Single UNIX Specification need to be registered
as conformant to the UNIX 95, UNIX 98, UNIX 03 or UNIX V7 Product Standards. There are other Product
Standards which may be registered which go part of the way to the full UNIX brand and
these Product Standards and their composition are set out below.
Product Standard Requirements
N.B. The set of required Test Suites identified below is liable to change over
time as new suites become available and approved as Indicators of Compliance.

Product Standard Requirements
Note that VSW5 is required for the underlying X Window System Application Interface V2
Product Standard, and will also be required for the X Window System Display Product
Standard, where a graphical display is included in the hardware environment.
If the product declares itself to be conformant to one or more of the Base or UNIX
Product Standards (see below) then the testing requirements of that/those Product
Standards must also be considered.
